Tefcold NEU6214U R290 Compressor for Refrigeration Units

A compressor is the heart of any refrigeration cycle, circulating refrigerant gas under pressure to remove heat from the cabinet. In the NEU6214U R290 unit, the compressor draws low-pressure vapour from the evaporator, compresses it into a high-pressure, high-temperature state, and forces it into the condenser where the heat is released. This continuous cycle maintains the cold environment inside display fridges, under-counter chillers and cold rooms.

The R290 designation shows the refrigerant used is propane, a hydrocarbon chosen for its low environmental impact and high thermodynamic efficiency. Propane absorbs and releases heat more effectively than older refrigerants, so the compressor can run at lower pressures and still achieve the required cooling performance.

Installation follows the standard sequence for sealed compressors: the unit is bolted to the base of the refrigeration system, the suction and discharge lines are brazed to the corresponding ports, and the electrical connections are made to the terminal block. Once the system is evacuated and charged with the correct mass of R290, the compressor starts automatically when the thermostat calls for cooling.

The NEU6214U is a drop-in replacement for original Tefcold compressors in specified models of under-counter fridges, bottle coolers and small cold rooms. It is supplied as a complete hermetic unit with mounting feet and a terminal cover for electrical safety.

Cleaning and maintenance are limited to keeping the condenser coil free of dust and ensuring the refrigerant charge remains at the factory-set level. No internal servicing is possible or required on a sealed compressor.
