A horizontal ice cream display freezer keeps frozen desserts at serving temperature while showing them through clear, sliding glass lids. The refrigeration system circulates cold air across the interior, drawing heat out of the product and holding it below freezing. Because the cabinet is open at the top, the cold air settles and forms a stable layer that resists warm air from the room. Sliding lids reduce the opening, so less warm air enters when customers lift them.

The operator loads the trays or tubs of ice cream into the well, closes the lids and sets the thermostat to the desired temperature. A digital controller maintains the range between -24 °C and -14 °C, allowing the freezer to hold soft-serve mixes at the warmer end or hard-pack ice cream at the colder one. Once the temperature stabilises, the unit runs continuously, cycling the compressor to keep the air cold. The sliding lids lock to prevent unauthorised opening outside business hours.

The cabinet is built from sheet steel with rounded corners and edges for safety and cleaning. Castors at the base allow the unit to be rolled into place without lifting. The refrigerant is R290, a hydrocarbon that requires a smaller charge than older types and is used only by trained technicians. The electrical supply is a single-phase 220-240 V circuit at 50 Hz, drawing 0.265 kW under normal operation.

The footprint of 1430 × 510 mm fits behind a counter or along a wall, while the overall size of 1570 × 650 × 885 mm includes the lids and any branding panels. The net usable volume is 367 L, enough for bulk tubs or individual scooping trays. At 110 kg, the freezer is moved by two people or a trolley, but once in position the castors lock to prevent rolling.

Cleaning involves removing the lids, wiping the interior with a mild detergent and draining the defrost water through the built-in outlet. The unit must be unplugged before any maintenance, and only qualified staff may handle the refrigerant or electrical components. Optional plastic scooping trays in 5 L and 4 L sizes fit the well for weighed portions.

The NIC502SC is part of the NIC-SC series, which offers custom branding for retail environments. It is placed in the catalogue under commercial refrigeration for ice cream and frozen desserts.
