Roll-In Cooler for professional kitchens
The RIC Roll-In Cooler is designed with efficiency and convenience in mind. Crafted from durable SS304 stainless steel, this ventilated cooling solution is designed to keep your prepared meals and dishes fresh and ready to serve. Ideal for event venues, buffet areas, bakeries, and cafeterias, this model can accommodate 1 x GN2/1 or 1 x 600x400mm or 2 x GN1/1 20-tray trolleys with ease (sold separately). Doors on both sides of the cabinet provide effortless access, for instance between the kitchen and the serving area.
A roll-in cooler keeps large volumes of prepared food at safe holding temperatures without transferring trays to shelves. A refrigeration unit circulates chilled air through a sealed cabinet, lowering the temperature of the entire trolley in one move. This method avoids repeated door openings and maintains consistent cold across every tray, which is essential for batch production in professional kitchens.
The operator wheels the loaded trolley into the cabinet through either the front or rear door, closes the door, and sets the desired temperature on the digital controller. The cooler then runs continuously, automatically defrosting to prevent ice build-up. The ventilated cooling system ensures even airflow, so every tray reaches the set temperature without hot spots. A temperature display lets staff monitor the cabinet without opening the door.
The RTC880X1 is built with a stainless steel exterior and interior for hygiene and durability. Both doors open fully to accept standard 20-tray trolleys, and the cooler is rated climate class 5, allowing reliable operation in warm kitchen environments.
The digital controller sets the temperature between +2 and +10 °C, covering chilled holding and some blast-chill recovery. The 220-240 V voltage matches standard UK commercial circuits, and the 4.6 kW daily power draw reflects continuous operation in a busy kitchen. The 168 kg weight indicates a floor-standing unit that remains stable once positioned, while the 880 mm width, 1082 mm depth and 2201.5 mm height define the footprint needed for installation and door clearance.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surfaces with food-safe sanitiser and checking the ventilated grilles for dust. The automatic defrost cycle reduces manual maintenance, but the condensate drain should be inspected periodically to prevent blockages.
The cooler accepts one GN2/1 trolley, one 600×400 mm trolley, or two GN1/1 trolleys, giving flexibility for different tray sizes. Trolleys are not included.
This model is listed under refrigeration for roll-in cabinets in the professional catering catalogue.
