Showcase cooler 42.6 l. GN containers not included
A static-cooled display cabinet keeps chilled food visible while maintaining safe holding temperatures. The refrigeration system circulates cold air inside the sealed cavity without forced fans, relying on natural convection to distribute the chill evenly across every shelf. This method avoids drying the surface of uncovered dishes and prevents cross-contamination from moving air, making it particularly suited to ready-to-serve items that must stay moist and appetising throughout service.
The operator loads up to six GN1/3 gastronorm pans directly onto the wire shelves behind the curved glass front. A digital controller on the top panel sets the desired holding temperature between +2 °C and +8 °C; the same display shows the current reading so staff can monitor conditions at a glance. Once the unit is plugged into a standard 220-240 V single-phase supply, the compressor cycles automatically to hold the set point without further intervention. Adjustable feet underneath allow the cabinet to sit level on uneven floors, ensuring the glass door seals properly and the condensate drains away.
The entire interior and exterior are built from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and ease of sanitising. The curved glass front is fixed in place, protecting the food while allowing customers or staff to view the contents without opening the door. Static cooling coils run along the back wall, hidden behind a perforated panel that diffuses the chill evenly across the shelves. A small quantity of R600a refrigerant—45 g—circulates through the sealed system, providing sufficient cooling capacity for the 42.6 L volume without excessive energy draw.
The 1500 mm width matches standard worktop depths, allowing the unit to sit flush against a wall or island counter. At 31 kg, two people can lift it into place without specialised equipment. The 2.64 kWh energy consumption over 24 hours reflects the load of maintaining a narrow temperature band in a glass-fronted cabinet, giving a clear indication of the running cost for daily service.
Cleaning follows from the construction: remove the GN1/3 pans, wipe the stainless steel interior and shelves with a food-safe sanitiser, then clean the glass front with a non-abrasive cloth. The perforated back panel can be unclipped for occasional dusting of the coils, although the static system collects less debris than fan-assisted models. Adjustable feet should be checked periodically to keep the unit level and the door seal tight.
The GVC38-150 is a single model; no variants are listed. It is categorised under refrigeration, specifically static-cooled display cabinets for professional catering.
