A ceramic contact grill applies heat directly from above and below, pressing food between two heated plates to cook both sides at once. The ceramic coating spreads the heat evenly, eliminating cold spots and reducing the need for oil.
The operator places food on the lower plate, closes the upper plate, and sets the temperature. The grill maintains the chosen heat level, cooking items consistently without constant attention. Once done, the plates open to release the food, ready for plating or holding.
The VEMA PV2064/1 is built with a stainless steel frame and ceramic-coated cast aluminium plates. The unit stands on adjustable feet for stability on uneven worktops, while the compact 590 mm width fits into tight kitchen layouts without sacrificing output.
Controls include a thermostat to regulate the cooking temperature and indicator lights to show when the grill is powered and up to temperature. The 230 V single-phase supply plugs into a standard UK catering circuit, drawing 2.5 kW under load.
At 22 kg, the grill is light enough to move with two people but stable enough to stay in place during service. The 560 mm height allows comfortable use without stooping, while the 420 mm depth leaves room for plates and utensils on the worktop behind it.
Cleaning involves wiping the ceramic plates with a damp cloth after each service to remove food debris, then applying a food-safe degreaser for stubborn residue. The stainless steel exterior wipes clean with a damp cloth, while the adjustable feet can be removed for thorough cleaning underneath.
