A ceramic grill concentrates heat on a smooth, non-porous surface that radiates evenly across the cooking area. The ceramic material absorbs and holds heat, then releases it steadily without the hot spots of a metal plate. This gives consistent searing and browning while reducing flare-ups from dripping fat, making it suited to high-volume grilling in confined worktops.
The operator places the grill on a stable counter, connects it to a 230 V single-phase supply, and switches it on. Once the surface reaches working temperature, food is laid directly on the ceramic plate. The grill requires no additional fat, and the smooth surface allows quick repositioning or turning. After cooking, the unit is switched off and left to cool before cleaning.
The PVF2065 is built as a single-piece ceramic plate mounted in a stainless-steel frame with a drip tray beneath. The frame measures 590 mm wide, 350 mm deep and 100 mm high, fitting into tight spaces where a full-sized chargrill would not. The 1.3 kW element draws a modest load, allowing it to share a circuit with other small appliances. At 10 kg, the unit is light enough to move between stations or store when not in use.
Controls are a single on-off switch and a pilot light that shows when the element is energised. The 230 V, 50/60 Hz rating matches standard UK mains, so no special wiring is needed.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the ceramic surface with a damp cloth once it has cooled. The drip tray removes for emptying and rinsing, preventing grease build-up beneath the plate.
The PVF2065 is listed in the catalogue under counter-top grills and contact grills.
