This electric hob is an excellent solution when a reliable, durable, and easy-to-clean appliance is needed for intensive daily use in restaurants, cafés, or canteens.
4 cooking zones with a diameter of 220 mm and a power of 2.6 kW + electric oven GN 2/1
An electric hob and static oven in a single 800 mm worktop unit, the CASTA LADY 700 combines four cast-iron heating zones with a GN 2/1 oven cavity for simultaneous cooking across multiple methods.
Electric hobs heat through resistance elements beneath the cooking surface. When current passes, the element glows and transfers heat directly to the base of pans. Cast-iron zones retain and distribute this heat evenly, reducing hot spots and allowing steady simmering, boiling or frying. Each zone on the LADY 700 is controlled by a 7-position switch, giving the chef incremental power settings from low to full. A built-in thermostatic safety device cuts power if the zone overheats, protecting both the appliance and the kitchen.
The static oven heats food by radiation from shielded elements above and below the cavity. Because the heat is not forced by a fan, it creates a gentle, even bake that suits pastry, roasting and slow cooking. Two separate thermostats let the operator set different temperatures for the top and bottom elements, so dishes can be browned on top while cooking through below. The oven door is double-skinned with a tight gasket, holding heat inside and cutting energy waste.
To use the hob, the chef selects a zone, sets the switch to the desired position and places the pan on the cast-iron plate. The oven is preheated by setting both thermostats to the required temperature and waiting for the indicator light to go out. Once hot, trays of food are loaded on the wire rack, the door is closed and the cooking time is monitored. After use, the hob zones are switched off and left to cool; the oven is turned off and the door left ajar to release residual heat.
The entire unit is built from stainless steel, including the hob surface, oven cavity and outer panels. Anti-drip edges around the hob collect spills, preventing liquids from running onto the floor. The oven base is split into two thick steel sections, making it easier to lift out for cleaning. Height-adjustable legs of AISI 18/10 stainless steel allow the unit to be levelled with adjacent worktops, even on uneven floors.
Controls consist of four 7-position rotary switches for the hob zones and two oven thermostats with indicator lights. The hob switches adjust power in steps, while the oven thermostats set the temperature from 0 °C to 300 °C for each heating element independently.
A 400 V 3-phase supply is required, drawing up to 5.48 kW for the oven and 2.6 kW per hob zone. This load is typical for professional electric ranges and is designed to run on a dedicated circuit in a commercial kitchen. The 800 mm width fits standard worktop runs, while the 700 mm depth leaves room for rear splashbacks and service clearance. The 850 mm height places the hob at a comfortable working level for standing chefs.
Cleaning involves wiping the hob surface with a damp cloth once cool, removing the oven base sections to wash separately, and brushing out crumbs from the cavity. The cast-iron zones can be scrubbed with a non-abrasive pad, and the anti-drip edges unclip for thorough cleaning. The oven door gasket should be checked regularly for wear and replaced if it loses its seal.
The LADY 700 is a single model with no variants. It is categorised in the CASTA professional range under electric hobs with static ovens.
