A yakitori grill heats food by direct radiant heat from a gas flame beneath a metal grid. The flame is controlled to sear and cook skewered items evenly without drying them, while fat and juices drip away from the food rather than pooling beneath it. This method keeps the meat moist and gives the characteristic charred exterior that defines yakitori dishes.
The operator places skewers or fillets on the V-shaped stainless steel grids, which slope so that fat runs off into a removable drip-pan below the burner. A second round grid, available on request, allows fish to be cooked without falling through. The gas safety tap, thermocouple and piezoelectric ignition are built into the front control panel, so the operator sets the desired temperature with a single knob and lights the burner with a push. A cool-grip handle lets the chef adjust the grid position without risk of burns.
The entire unit is constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel finished in a scotch-brite satin surface that resists fingerprints and scratches. The front runner collects fat and oil in a removable tray for easy emptying, while the drip-pan under the burner catches any residue that misses the tray. Legs raise the grill to bench height, so it can be used on a worktop or island without additional stands.
The 12 kW gas burner draws a steady load suitable for a commercial gas supply, giving the power needed to maintain a consistent cooking temperature across the full 1200 mm width of the grid. The 1440 mm length and 320 mm depth fit within a standard worktop footprint, while the 270 mm height keeps the cooking surface at a comfortable working level. The weight of the unit means it is moved with a trolley or two people, not lifted by hand.
Cleaning follows from the removable parts: the drip-pan, fat collection tray and grids lift out for washing in a sink or dishwasher. The burner and control panel are wiped down with a damp cloth, while the stainless steel body is cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner to preserve the scotch-brite finish.
The YAK2 is a bench model; no wall-mounted or floor-standing variants are listed. A round cooking grid for fish is supplied only on request.
