Professional electric bratt pan with motorised tank tilting and direct heating, designed for preparing large quantities of food. The motorised system provides automatic tilting of the tank, while manual tilting is also possible in the event of a system failure. Direct electric heating means that the heat generated by the heating elements is transferred directly to the bottom of the cooking tank, ensuring rapid heat transfer. The unit is suitable for frying, stewing, boiling and other cooking processes.
A bratt pan combines the functions of a frying surface, a braising pan, a boiling kettle and a shallow stockpot in one appliance. It heats a large, flat base evenly with electric elements mounted directly beneath the cooking surface. The heat spreads through the thick stainless steel base, creating a consistent temperature across the entire area. This allows food to be seared, sautéed, simmered or boiled without hot spots, while the sloped sides make stirring and turning easy. The motorised tilting mechanism lifts the pan so its contents can be poured or transferred without lifting, reducing strain and spillage in a busy kitchen.
To use the SBE-150 M, the operator fills the pan with oil, stock or water up to the marked level, then sets the thermostat to the required temperature between 50 and 260 °C. The pan heats until the thermostat cuts power to the elements, maintaining the set temperature automatically. Food is added directly to the pan or lowered in a basket, and stirred or turned as needed. When cooking is complete, the motorised tilt mechanism is activated, lifting the front edge of the pan so its contents can be poured into a container or onto a tray. If the motorised system fails, the pan can still be tilted manually using the handle.
The cooking basin is made from 10 mm thick AISI 304 stainless steel, with rounded internal corners to prevent food from sticking and to make cleaning easier. The base is also available in a 12 mm composite option, combining 9 mm steel with a 3 mm stainless steel layer. The lid, outer walls and supporting frame are constructed from the same grade of stainless steel, with the lid fitted with a chrome-plated hinge, springs and a stainless steel handle for easy opening. The unit stands on adjustable stainless steel legs, allowing the pan to be levelled on uneven floors.
Controls include a thermostat to set the cooking temperature and a switch to activate the motorised tilting mechanism. A safety thermostat cuts power to the elements if the temperature exceeds safe limits, preventing overheating.
The 15.1 kW power rating requires a dedicated 400 V three-phase circuit, which must be installed by a qualified electrician. The 150 L capacity allows large batches of food to be prepared at once, while the 215 kg weight means the unit must be positioned on a sturdy floor or reinforced surface. The 1200 x 900 x 850 mm footprint takes up a fixed space on the worktop or floor, so the kitchen layout must accommodate it.
Cleaning involves draining the pan, then scrubbing the stainless steel surfaces with a non-abrasive pad and detergent. The rounded corners and smooth finish prevent food from becoming trapped, while the tilting mechanism allows the pan to be emptied completely. The lid and handle should be wiped down after each use to remove grease and steam residue.
The SBE-150 M is an electric model with direct heating, meaning the elements transfer heat straight to the pan base without an intermediate medium. This design heats up quickly and responds rapidly to temperature adjustments, making it suitable for processes that require precise control, such as reducing sauces or searing meat.
This model is categorised under professional bratt pans and is designed for commercial kitchens, catering operations and large-scale food production.
