A cotton candy machine spins melted sugar into fine threads that wrap around a rotating head, forming the fluffy cloud of candy. The heating element beneath the bowl melts granulated sugar, while the spinning head flings the liquid outward through tiny holes. As the sugar cools in the air, it solidifies into delicate strands that collect on the edges of the bowl, ready to be gathered onto sticks or cones.
To operate the FRANCESCO PALANCA EB1-450, place granulated sugar in the aluminium food basin. Switch the unit on and wait for the heating element to reach temperature. Once the sugar melts, press the foot switch to activate the spinning head. The melted sugar is drawn into the head and spun outward, creating the characteristic cotton candy. When enough candy has formed, lift it from the bowl with a stick or cone and repeat the process for the next portion.
The machine is built with an aluminium food basin and an organic glass safety guard that encloses the spinning head. A foot switch controls the heating element, allowing hands-free operation while the operator gathers the candy. The 230 V supply plugs into a standard single-phase circuit, and the 1.5 to 2.1 kW power rating determines the load on the kitchen's electrical supply. The 450 mm width, 370 mm depth and 430 mm height fit neatly on a small worktop, leaving space for ingredients and serving tools.
Cleaning involves removing the aluminium basin and wiping it with a damp cloth to clear residual sugar. The organic glass guard lifts away for cleaning, and the heating element and spinning head should be brushed free of any stuck sugar once cooled. The foot switch can be wiped down with a damp cloth to keep it free of sugar dust.
The EB1-450 is placed in the catalogue under countertop dessert equipment for compact kitchens and mobile catering units.
