A lever-action corkscrew built for the pace of a professional bar, where a single smooth pull extracts the cork without twisting or strain. The mechanism multiplies hand force, letting the operator lift the cork straight out with minimal effort and no risk of breaking it. A separate bottle opener is integrated into the same compact body, so staff can switch between wine and bottled beers or mixers without reaching for another tool.
To open a bottle, the operator first removes the foil capsule, centres the worm over the cork, and screws it in until only one turn remains. The lever is then hooked over the rim of the bottle; a single downward press lifts the cork cleanly and evenly. The same lever can be used to ease the worm back out once the cork is clear. The separate opener is positioned on the opposite side, shaped to grip crown caps firmly and pry them off with a quick upward flick.
The body is formed from steel and finished in chrome plating for corrosion resistance and easy wipe-down between uses. The worm itself is hardened to maintain its grip on corks over repeated use. At 170 mm long and 0.12 kg, the unit fits comfortably in a bar drawer or apron pocket, ready for the next order.
Cleaning follows directly from the materials: the chrome surface can be wiped with a damp cloth and sanitiser, while the worm should be rinsed under running water to remove any cork residue. No disassembly is required, and the lack of moving parts beyond the lever keeps maintenance to a minimum.
The HENDI Corkscrew BarUp is listed in the bar equipment section of the professional catering catalogue.
