A refrigerated display well keeps chilled foods visible and accessible while maintaining a steady low temperature. Gel-filled cooling elements absorb heat from the surrounding air, slowing the rise in temperature inside the unit. The transparent lid traps the cooled air, reducing the load on the cooling elements and extending the time food stays fresh without mechanical refrigeration. This method is widely used for buffets, delicatessens and self-service counters where presentation matters as much as temperature control.

The operator slides the roll-top lid open to an angle of up to ninety degrees, revealing two stainless steel trays. Food is arranged on the trays, and the cooling elements are placed beneath them. The lid is then rolled shut, sealing the cooled air inside. During service, customers or staff open the lid only as far as needed to select an item, minimising the escape of cold air. A small handle at the front edge makes opening and closing the lid quick and controlled.

The body is moulded from black ABS, a rigid plastic that resists impacts and stains. The lid is made of transparent PET, allowing a clear view of the contents without lifting the cover. Two stainless steel trays, each measuring 400 by 300 millimetres, sit inside the well and hold the food. Gel-filled cooling elements rest beneath the trays, absorbing ambient heat and keeping the temperature inside the well lower than the surrounding room.

The unit measures 480 millimetres in length, 355 millimetres in width and 480 millimetres in height. The footprint of 480 by 355 millimetres fits neatly on most buffet counters or worktops. The total weight of 5.988 kilograms allows the well to be moved by one person when empty, yet it remains stable once in place.

Cleaning is straightforward: the stainless steel trays lift out for washing, and the ABS body and PET lid can be wiped down with a damp cloth. The cooling elements require no maintenance beyond occasional inspection to ensure they remain intact.
