A pizza plate holds the base steady while the toppings bake, keeping the crust from warping or sticking. The broad, flat surface spreads heat evenly across the dough, so the edges crisp at the same rate as the centre. Glazed porcelain reflects heat back into the pizza rather than absorbing it, giving a firmer base without scorching the underside.

The operator slides the raw pizza onto the plate, loads it into the oven, and removes the cooked pizza still on the plate. Once cooled, the plate is wiped or washed for the next use.

The plate is made of glazed porcelain, a dense ceramic fired at high temperature. The glaze seals the surface, preventing moisture absorption and making the plate resistant to stains and odours. It is microwave safe, allowing reheating without transferring the pizza to another dish, and dishwasher safe for quick cleaning between services. The plate is not oven safe, so it must be used only at temperatures suitable for porcelain.

The 330 mm diameter matches standard pizza bases, providing enough space for the dough to expand without spilling over the edge. The weight of the plate keeps it stable on worktops and oven racks, reducing the risk of accidental movement during handling.

Cleaning involves rinsing off food debris and washing with warm water and mild detergent. The glazed surface resists scratches, so metal utensils can be used without damaging the plate. After washing, the plate should be dried thoroughly to prevent water spots and maintain its appearance.
