600 mm Square Melamine Table Top 28 mm

A solid melamine table top forms a hard, non-porous surface that resists scratches, stains and heat from hot pans or serving dishes. The material is a resin-impregnated paper core pressed between decorative sheets under high pressure, creating a panel that needs no sealing or re-finishing. Once cut to size, the edges are sealed with a matching ABS strip to prevent moisture ingress and chipping.

The 600 mm square panel is placed directly on a base frame or existing counter, secured with screws or adhesive, and becomes the working surface for food preparation, plating or service. Its 28 mm thickness gives enough rigidity to span standard catering cupboard widths without sagging, while keeping the overall height low enough for comfortable use by staff of average stature.

The top is supplied as a single flat sheet, ready for installation. No assembly is required beyond cutting service apertures for taps, hobs or sinks if the layout demands them. The ABS edging is already bonded and trimmed flush, so the only preparation is cleaning the surface before use.

Construction is a 28 mm melamine-faced chipboard core with a 2 mm ABS edge strip on all four sides. The edging matches the melamine finish, creating a continuous appearance.

There are no controls or moving parts; the product is a static work surface.

The 600x600 mm footprint fits standard modular catering cupboard units and under-counter refrigeration, allowing the top to be used as a drop-on replacement or as part of a new run. The 28 mm thickness is compatible with most commercial base frames and support legs.

Cleaning is done with a damp cloth and mild detergent; the melamine surface does not absorb liquids, so spills wipe away without staining. The ABS edging can be cleaned the same way, but abrasive pads should be avoided to prevent scratching the finish.
