Designed for the demands of a busy kitchen, the BHS Chair Aracna offers stable seating that adapts to different worktop heights. A gas-lift column allows smooth height adjustment, enabling staff to alternate between standing and seated tasks without moving from the station. The mechanism is sealed to resist spills and grease, ensuring reliable performance under daily use.

The seat and backrest are contoured to support proper posture during long periods of chopping, plating or paperwork. A subtle lumbar curve reduces strain, while the seat pan tilts slightly forward to promote an upright position. This helps maintain spinal alignment and keeps shoulders relaxed, even when reaching across a wide work surface.

Assembly is quick: the seat and backrest attach to a single-piece steel frame supported by five castors. The castors swivel for easy repositioning but lock under weight to prevent unwanted movement. A foot ring at the base provides a place to rest feet, easing pressure on the legs during breaks.

The frame is made of powder-coated steel, selected for its durability against chipping and corrosion in humid kitchen conditions. The seat and backrest are moulded polypropylene, a material that resists warping and discolouration from frequent cleaning with hot water and sanitising sprays. The gas-lift column is protected by a steel shroud to shield it from knocks and spills.

Height adjustment is controlled by a single lever beneath the seat. Pulling the lever releases the gas spring, allowing the operator to raise or lower the seat; releasing the lever locks it in place. The adjustment range suits prep tables, plating counters and beverage stations.

With dimensions of 580 mm wide, 570 mm deep and 440–900 mm high, the chair fits neatly under most catering worktops when not in use, conserving floor space. The chair is light enough for one person to lift onto a shelf or into storage, yet stable enough to support an adult during active kitchen tasks.

Cleaning is simple: wipe the polypropylene surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry to avoid water spots. The castors should be checked monthly for debris, and the gas-lift column kept free of grease to ensure smooth operation.
