To use the chair, the operator sits and presses the lever beneath the seat. The chair lowers until the lever is released, then locks. Raising is done by lifting slightly off the seat while pressing the lever; the gas spring pushes the seat up until the lever is released again. The frame is constructed from steel tubing, finished in a durable powder coat. The seat and backrest are moulded polypropylene, chosen for its resistance to moisture, grease and frequent cleaning. The gas cylinder is housed inside the central column, protected from knocks and spills.

The single control is a lever mounted under the seat on the right side. Pressing it releases the gas spring; releasing it locks the height.
