A solid melamine table top forms a hard-wearing work surface that resists scratches, stains and heat from hot pans. The 38 mm thickness gives the top the rigidity needed for chopping, plating and assembling dishes without sagging under repeated loads.
Melamine is a resin-impregnated paper core pressed between decorative outer sheets. Once cured, the material becomes non-porous, so it does not absorb spills or harbour bacteria. The smooth surface wipes clean quickly, making it practical for busy service periods where hygiene and speed are essential.
The top measures 1200 mm by 680 mm, a standard footprint that fits most stainless-steel underframes and cupboard bases. A 2 mm ABS edging runs around all four sides, sealing the core from moisture and preventing chipping at the edges. The edging colour matches the melamine finish for a seamless appearance.
Installation is straightforward: the top is placed on the chosen base and secured with screws through pre-drilled fixing points. No additional sealing or finishing is required. Once fixed, the surface is ready for immediate use, supporting food preparation, plating stations or service counters.
Cleaning involves wiping with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The non-porous surface prevents grease and food particles from penetrating, so daily upkeep remains simple. For deeper cleaning, a sanitising solution can be used without damaging the melamine or edging.
This table top is supplied as a single piece, ready to fit standard catering underframes and cupboard units.
