A stovetop moka coffee pot extracts rich, concentrated coffee by forcing hot water through ground coffee under steam pressure. The base chamber holds cold water, which heats on a hob or burner until steam builds. The pressure pushes the water up through a funnel filled with finely ground coffee, then into the top chamber as a strong, espresso-like brew. This method produces a full-bodied coffee without an electric machine, relying only on the heat source and the sealed aluminium construction.
To use the pot, unscrew the base and fill the lower chamber with cold water up to the safety valve. Place finely ground coffee in the funnel basket, level it without pressing down, then reassemble the pot. Set it on a medium heat source and watch the coffee rise into the top chamber. Once the brewing sound changes to a gurgling hiss, remove the pot from the heat to prevent over-extraction. Pour the coffee immediately to serve.
The pot is made of aluminium, which conducts heat evenly and is lightweight for handling. The handle remains cool to touch during brewing, allowing safe pouring. The safety valve releases excess pressure if the water boils too vigorously, preventing overpressure.
Cleaning involves rinsing the pot with warm water after each use, avoiding soap to preserve the coffee oils that build up and enhance flavour over time. The aluminium should not be placed in a dishwasher, as detergents and high heat can damage the surface and affect the taste of future brews.
This model is designed for stovetop use only, compatible with gas, electric and induction hobs where an induction disc is used. The pot is not suitable for direct flame contact unless the heat source is adjusted to medium or low settings to avoid overheating the aluminium.
