A solid work surface built for open-air catering terraces, this HPL compact table top withstands the elements while providing a hygienic, low-maintenance area for food service and preparation.
HPL (high-pressure laminate) compact surfaces are engineered by fusing multiple layers of resin-impregnated paper under intense heat and pressure. The result is a dense, non-porous sheet that resists moisture, heat and impact far better than standard laminates. This construction prevents warping, delamination and bacterial growth, making it particularly suited to outdoor environments where temperature swings, rain and UV exposure are constant.
To use the table top, position it on a sturdy base or frame designed for outdoor service. The surface is ready for immediate use; no sealing or conditioning is required. Food, drink and equipment can be placed directly on the table without risk of staining or scorching. After service, cleaning is straightforward: wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove spills and debris. The material's resistance to UV rays prevents fading and surface degradation, even after prolonged sun exposure.
The table top measures 1390 mm by 590 mm, providing a generous work area for plating, garnishing or holding service equipment. Its compact thickness ensures stability without adding unnecessary weight, making it easier to move or reposition as terrace layouts change. The edges are sealed to prevent water ingress, and the surface remains smooth and even, reducing the risk of spills or accidents.
Cleaning and upkeep are minimal. The non-porous surface does not absorb liquids or odours, and its resistance to burns means hot pans or dishes can be placed directly on it without causing damage. Regular wiping with a damp cloth is sufficient to maintain hygiene and appearance. For stubborn marks, a non-abrasive cleaner can be used without risk of scratching or dulling the finish.
This table top is designed specifically for outdoor use, where durability and ease of maintenance are critical. It is resistant to UV rays, burns, stains and general wear, ensuring a long service life in high-traffic catering environments.
