A cooker hood extracts steam, smoke and airborne grease from the air above a hob or worktop, preventing them from spreading through the kitchen. It draws the contaminated air through a filter, trapping grease particles before the air is either vented outside or recirculated after further cleaning. This keeps the workspace clear, reduces odours and maintains a safer, more comfortable environment for staff.
The operator positions the hood directly above the cooking area, ensuring it covers the entire width of the hob. Once switched on, the extraction fan pulls air upwards, capturing fumes at the source. Grease filters inside the hood collect particles, while the fan continues to draw air through the system. The hood runs continuously during cooking, with the option to adjust fan speed to match the intensity of the cooking process.
Built in stainless steel, the BHS Projects cooker hood measures 800 mm wide, 600 mm deep and 200 mm high. Its dimensions allow it to fit above standard 800 mm hobs and worktops, providing full coverage for professional cooking equipment. The width ensures efficient extraction across the entire cooking surface, while the depth and height keep the unit compact enough for installation in most commercial kitchens.
Cleaning involves removing and washing the grease filters regularly to maintain airflow and prevent build-up. The stainless steel exterior can be wiped down with a damp cloth to remove surface grease and dirt. Routine maintenance ensures the hood continues to operate efficiently and meets hygiene standards in a busy kitchen environment.
