A laboratory scale measures mass with a precision that balances cannot match. The SKB600 uses an electromagnetic force restoration system: a coil beneath the weighing pan generates a magnetic field that counteracts the weight of the sample. A sensor detects any deflection, and the current to the coil adjusts until the pan returns to its null position. The current required is directly proportional to the mass, and the scale converts it into a digital reading on the LCD display. This method eliminates friction and wear, giving repeatable results down to hundredths of a gram.
To use the scale, place it on a level, vibration-free surface. Connect the power supply if using mains, or insert the battery. Press the tare button to zero the display. Place a container on the pan and press tare again to exclude its weight. Add the sample until the display shows the desired mass. The scale updates continuously, so you can add or remove material while watching the reading. When finished, remove the sample and container, and switch off the power if the scale will not be used again soon.
The SKB600 is built on a plastic base with a stainless steel weighing pan. The LCD display is mounted on the front panel, with a single button for tare. The scale can be powered by either a battery or a mains adapter, allowing it to be used in locations without a power socket or where portability is needed.
The 0.01 g readability allows the scale to measure small quantities of ingredients, chemicals or samples where accuracy is critical. The 600 g maximum capacity covers most laboratory and small-scale catering applications, such as weighing spices, food additives or portion control samples. The tare function lets you exclude the weight of containers, so you measure only the sample. The scale weighs 1.8 kg, making it easy to move between workstations or store in a cupboard when not in use.
The working temperature range of the scale is narrow, indicating it is designed for use in controlled environments like laboratories or temperature-stable kitchens. The compact footprint of 250 x 200 mm fits on a worktop without taking up excessive space.
Cleaning is straightforward: wipe the stainless steel pan with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasives or solvents that could damage the surface. The plastic base can be wiped down with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the scale in water or expose it to excessive moisture. Store the scale in a dry place when not in use to protect the electronics.
The SKB600 is a single model with no variants. It is categorised under laboratory equipment for precision weighing.
