Table Base for 600 mm Worktops

A table base provides a stable, freestanding support for worktops in professional kitchens. The column transfers the weight of the top and any load on it down to a broad base plate, spreading the force across the floor. This design prevents tipping and absorbs the vibration of chopping, mixing or placing heavy pots. The base is sized to match the worktop diameter, ensuring the edges do not overhang and create a hazard.

The base arrives as a flat-pack kit for self-assembly. The operator fits the column into the lower base, then secures the upper mounting plate to the top of the column. Mounting screws are provided for these joints, but screws for attaching the worktop itself are not included. Once assembled, the base stands 1100 mm high, ready to receive a worktop up to 600 mm in diameter.

The construction uses black painted steel throughout. The lower base is formed from steel sheet 1.4 or 2.0 mm thick, while the upper mounting plate is a 3.0 mm thick square of 250 x 250 mm. The paint finish resists kitchen moisture and cleaning chemicals, but regular wiping with a damp cloth keeps the surface free of grease and dust. The base weighs 5.5 kg, light enough for one person to move and position before assembly.

The footprint of 430 mm diameter allows the base to fit into tight spaces, while the 43 mm high base plate keeps the column clear of floor debris. The maximum top diameter of 600 mm suits standard catering worktops, giving a comfortable working area without excessive overhang. The base is designed for self-assembly, so no specialist tools are required beyond a screwdriver for the provided mounting screws.

Optional upgrades include different heights, alternative colours from the RAL palette, a 4.0 kg cast iron weight for added stability, and a round aluminium adapter for mounting glass worktops.
