A table scale measures ingredients by balancing the load against a calibrated spring or electronic sensor. The sensor converts the force into an electrical signal, which the scale's processor translates into a weight reading. This method delivers consistent accuracy for portion control, recipe scaling and inventory checks in a professional kitchen.
Place the scale on a level worktop. Connect the power supply—either a battery or the mains adaptor. Press the power button to turn the unit on; the LCD display will light up. Place a container on the weighing platform and press the tare button to zero the display, removing the container's weight from the measurement. Add the ingredient until the desired weight appears on the screen. For repeated batches, use the tare function between each addition to keep the reading accurate.
The scale is built with a weighing platform sized to hold standard kitchen containers. Its housing is designed for easy cleaning, with smooth surfaces and minimal crevices. The LCD display is positioned for clear visibility during use.
Controls include a power button to switch the unit on and off, and a tare button to reset the display to zero. The display itself shows the current weight, the selected unit of measurement, and battery status when running on battery power.
A maximum capacity of 25 kg allows the scale to handle bulk ingredients, large containers and full prep batches. The 5 or 10 g readability ensures precise measurements for both small and large quantities. A power rating of 0.007 kW reflects minimal energy use, suitable for continuous operation without overloading the circuit. The scale's weight of 3 kg makes it portable between workstations, while its footprint fits on most worktops without crowding other equipment.
Clean the scale by wiping the platform and housing with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or excessive moisture, which could damage the sensor or electronics. Store the scale in a dry area when not in use to protect the internal components.
The scale is available in a single model, the SD225, designed for tabletop use in professional kitchens.
