A wok gas cooking range brings direct flame under a curved wok bowl to sear, stir-fry and steam at speed. The open burner heats the metal instantly, transferring energy straight into the food without waiting for a hob to warm. High-output gas jets keep the temperature steady even when cold ingredients are added, so the wok stays hot enough to caramelise sugars and create wok hei, the breath of the wok that defines Asian fast cooking.
The operator lights the burners, adjusts the flame with the gas valves, and lowers the wok into the ring. Food is tossed continuously to expose every piece to the heat; the curved sides keep the ingredients moving and prevent spills. Once the dish is finished, the wok is lifted out, and the next batch can start immediately.
The MW2500BA is built as a stainless steel worktop unit 2500 mm wide, 900 mm deep and 850 mm high, with an additional 500 mm splashback. Two 9.5 kW gas burners sit side by side, each supplying enough heat for a single wok. The construction is fully welded, with no seams or crevices that could trap food debris.
Gas valves control the flame on each burner; there are no electronic controls or timers. The 9.5 kW rating indicates the maximum gas load the unit draws, which determines the size of the gas line and meter needed in the kitchen.
The 2500 mm width provides space for two woks to work simultaneously, allowing a single chef or a pair to keep up with high-volume service. The 900 mm depth fits standard worktop depths while leaving room for a gas tap behind the unit. The 850 mm height matches most professional work surfaces, so the range integrates with existing counters. The 500 mm splashback protects the wall from grease and steam.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent after each service. The burners are removed for weekly brushing to clear carbon deposits, and the gas jets are checked for blockages. The welded seams prevent dirt from collecting in corners, reducing the time spent scrubbing.
The catalogue places the MW2500BA in the gas cooking section, under wok and Asian cuisine equipment.
