Chair in Reinforced Polypropylene
- : BHS-HoReCa
- Article number: 3G-BragaChair
A braga chair provides adjustable-height seating at catering workstations where staff stand for long shifts. The seat rises and lowers on a gas strut, letting each operator set the height that keeps the spine neutral while they prep, plate or wash up. The mechanism is sealed, so it does not collect food debris or cleaning chemicals, and the adjustment lever is placed where it can be reached without bending or stretching.
The chair rolls on four castors, allowing quick repositioning between tasks without lifting. When the operator needs both hands free, the castors lock to prevent drift. The base is wide enough to remain stable on uneven kitchen floors, yet the footprint stays compact so the chair tucks under worktops when not in use.
The seat is contoured to support the pelvis and lower back, reducing fatigue during extended periods of standing work. The backrest is minimal, designed to allow free movement of the shoulders and arms while still offering a reference point for posture.
Construction is aluminium tubing with a powder-coated finish. The seat and backrest are polypropylene, chosen for resistance to moisture, oils and common kitchen sanitisers. The materials are non-absorbent, so they do not harbour bacteria or odours, and they withstand the frequent hot-water washes that professional kitchens require.
The single control is the height-adjustment lever beneath the seat. Pressing the lever releases the gas strut, letting the seat move up or down; releasing the lever locks it at the chosen height.
The size of 560 mm wide, 540 mm deep and 430–800 mm high means the chair fits under standard catering worktops and through doorways without tilting. The 2.35 kg weight allows one person to carry it between stations or stow it on a wall hook when space is tight.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the seat, backrest and frame with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. The castors can be removed for separate cleaning if they collect flour or other kitchen debris. No lubrication or disassembly is required for routine upkeep.
The Braga Chair is listed in the BHS catalogue under Workstation Accessories.
