China Sencha green tea is a loose-leaf variety that releases its flavour and aroma when steeped in hot water. The leaves, harvested from tea plants, are gently processed to preserve their natural characteristics. Unlike black tea, green tea is not oxidised, which keeps the leaves light in colour and the infusion mild and fresh. The temperature of the water and the steeping time are critical: water that is too hot or leaves left too long can make the tea bitter, masking its subtle notes.
To prepare this tea, heat water to 70 °C. Once the water reaches the correct temperature, place the loose leaves in a teapot or infuser. Pour the water over the leaves and let them steep for 2 minutes. After steeping, remove the leaves to prevent over-extraction. The result is a pale, clear infusion with a delicate, grassy flavour and a light, refreshing finish.
The 100 g pack contains loose tea leaves, allowing the user to measure the desired quantity for each serving. The leaves are sourced from China, where the climate and soil contribute to the tea's distinctive profile.
Store the tea in an airtight container away from light, heat and moisture to maintain its freshness. Use the leaves within a few months of opening for the best flavour.
