Rose of Orient is a scented green-tea blend that combines Chinese Sencha, Gunpowder, Fog Tea, Pai Mu Tan and Jasmine with whole rosebuds, marigold and cornflower blossoms. The floral ingredients release their aroma and colour when steeped in hot water, transforming the base green tea into a fragrant, visually appealing cup.
Green tea leaves are processed to retain their natural chlorophyll and antioxidants. When infused, they yield a light, fresh liquor that serves as the foundation for the floral notes. The rosebuds, marigold and cornflower blossoms add subtle fragrance and a gentle sweetness without overpowering the tea's natural character. The recommended water temperature of 90 °C ensures the leaves and blossoms unfurl gradually, preventing bitterness while allowing the delicate flavours to develop fully.
To prepare, measure one teaspoon of the loose-leaf blend per cup. Heat fresh water to 90 °C—just below boiling—and pour over the leaves. Allow the tea to steep for two minutes, then strain. The infusion yields a pale golden liquor with visible rosebuds and petals suspended in the cup. The process can be repeated for a second, lighter infusion.
The blend is packaged in a 300 g resealable pouch to preserve freshness. Each ingredient is visible through the clear window, confirming the presence of whole rosebuds and blossoms rather than artificial flavourings or powders.
The 90 °C temperature setting is chosen to protect the delicate floral components from scalding, which would mute their aroma. The two-minute infusion time balances strength and subtlety, allowing the green tea and blossoms to harmonise without becoming astringent.
Rose of Orient is categorised under floral and scented teas in the Florapharm range, distinct from pure green or black teas due to its decorative and aromatic additions.
