BASIC — Entry Level Tumble Dryers DANUBE

BASIC — entry level tumble dryers 11–35 kg

Not every site needs a touchscreen, an internet connection and twenty programmes. In many places what is needed is simply a durable industrial dryer that staff switch on with a button and that keeps running every day for years. That is exactly what the Danube BASIC range is.

Danube states that the BASIC range has been designed specifically for companies with a clear need for basic technical specifications, and that its main advantage is value for money while maintaining high quality standards.

What the BASIC class still has as standard

A lower price does not mean weaker drying. The BASIC range comes as standard with a reversing drum, a frequency inverter and dual axial and radial airflow, and maintains the same level of performance and drying quality as the other ranges.

  • Reversing drum — the drum changes direction, so linen does not rope into a single twist and dries evenly.
  • Frequency inverter as standard — smoother running and gentler load on the mechanics.
  • Double Flow — mixed axial and radial airflow in the drum.
  • Soft Dry — a drum with stamped holes that handles fabric gently and leaves nothing to snag on.
  • Cool Down — cooling at the end of the cycle to prevent creasing.
  • Wide 180° door opening and a filter drawer with a large surface area.
  • EM programmer — electronic control with push-buttons for time and temperature.

How BASIC differs from the higher classes

Honestly — in the control and the cabinet material, not in drying quality.

  • Push-button control rather than a touchscreen. No programmable cycles and no internet connection for remote monitoring.
  • Galvanised steel cabinet with white painted panels rather than skinplate or stainless steel.
  • Galvanised steel drum rather than stainless steel.
  • Capacity up to 35 kg — for larger volumes look at the BRONZE or SILVER class, available up to 80 kg.
  • No saving functions — Care Dry moisture control and energy recovery belong to the GOLD class.

When BASIC is the right choice

  • Small and medium sites with a moderate daily load.
  • When the machine is used by changing staff and the controls must be self-explanatory.
  • As a backup or second dryer alongside an existing machine.
  • When the budget is tight but domestic appliances can no longer take the load.
  • For seasonal sites — campsites, guest houses, equestrian centres.

Frequently asked questions

Does BASIC dry worse than the higher classes?
No. Danube states that BASIC maintains the same level of performance and drying quality as the other ranges. The difference lies in the control, the cabinet material and the saving functions, not in the drying result.

How does BASIC differ from BRONZE?
Both have EM push-button control. BRONZE has a stainless steel drum, a skinplate cabinet and capacities up to 80 kg. BASIC has a galvanised drum, white painted panels and capacities up to 35 kg. If the machine will work in a damp environment or with chemically aggressive detergents, a stainless steel drum lasts longer.

Can a BASIC dryer be stacked on a washer?
Not the industrial DD BASIC models. The professional DPR BASIC model cannot be stacked either, unlike the other DPR versions. If you need a stacked column, look at the DPR EM or ET2 versions.

How long does a machine like this last?
It is an industrial machine, not a domestic appliance, and it is built for daily commercial load. Service life depends far more on how regularly the filter is cleaned than on the class.

Is an external exhaust required?
Yes, the BASIC range is vented. If an exhaust cannot be installed in the room, the only option is a heat pump dryer.

Electric or gas?
If the site has a gas supply, a gas model is usually cheaper to run. The electric 14 and 18 kg models are also available at a reduced 12 kW if the room's electrical supply is limited.

Can I upgrade to a higher class later?
The class is set in production and cannot be changed afterwards. If you expect the load to grow or to need remote monitoring, consider BRONZE or SILVER from the start.
