A fryer basket holds food clear of the heating element while it cooks in hot oil. The perforated base and sides let oil circulate freely, crisping every surface evenly without steaming. The wire frame keeps portions separate so they do not clump, and the handle allows the operator to lower and lift the load without splashing or dripping.
To use the basket, the operator fills it with the food to be fried, lowers it gently into the pre-heated oil, and sets the timer. When the cycle finishes, the basket is lifted out, drained briefly over the vat, and the food transferred to a holding tray. The same basket can be reused immediately for the next batch.
The basket is constructed from heavy-gauge wire mesh with a reinforced rim. The handle is welded to the frame for strength and fitted with a heat-resistant sleeve to protect the operator's hands. The dimensions of 215 mm depth, 330 mm width and 165 mm height match the standard 1/3 size vat found in most professional fryers, ensuring a snug fit that prevents food from slipping underneath.
The 215 mm depth allows the basket to reach the full depth of the oil, so food cooks evenly from top to bottom. The 330 mm width gives enough space to spread portions in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding. The 165 mm height keeps the handle clear of the oil surface when the basket is fully lowered.
Cleaning is straightforward: after each service the basket is soaked in hot detergent, scrubbed to remove any carbonised residue, rinsed and left to air-dry. The open mesh construction means no corners or crevices where debris can lodge, and the welded joints prevent food particles from becoming trapped.
