An electric stove built for the demands of a ship's galley, where stability and power must meet confined space. The unit combines four cast-iron hobs on the worktop with a deck oven below, all driven by a three-phase 400 V supply. Electric elements beneath each hob heat the cast iron, which then radiates and conducts heat evenly across the cooking surface. The oven beneath uses a traditional electric element to fill its chamber with dry, steady heat, controlled by a thermostat that cycles the power to hold the set temperature. This method gives the chef direct control over the intensity of each hob and the ambient heat inside the oven, allowing everything from gentle simmering to rapid boiling and even baking at sea.

The operator first sets the adjustable feet to level the stove on the rolling deck. Each hob is fitted with a seven-position power regulator; the chef selects the setting, waits for the indicator light to extinguish, and then places the pan on the glowing ring. The oven is pre-heated by turning the thermostat to the desired temperature, again waiting for the light to cycle off before loading the grid with trays or tins. Once cooking is complete, the hobs are turned off and the oven door opened to release the heat, while the insulated rear panel prevents accidental contact with the hot surfaces.

The entire construction is 18/10 AISI 304 stainless steel, satin-finished with Scotch-Brite for a non-reflective surface. The 2 mm thick worktop has rounded edges, and the cast-iron hobs are framed with steel rims to contain spills. Chromed details and a rear protective panel add corrosion resistance, while IPX5-rated waterproof control knobs allow the unit to be hosed down without risk of electrical fault. The oven interior measures 670 × 730 × 340 mm and is supplied with a single grid sized 650 × 710 mm, matching the GN 2/1 gastronorm standard. A TPA-9 end closure piece is included to seal the gap between the stove and adjacent equipment.

The 20.7 kW power rating draws a substantial load from the ship's three-phase circuit, so the installation must be planned with the vessel's electrical capacity in mind. The 800 × 900 × 900 mm footprint fits within the standard marine galley module, while the 142 kg weight requires a solid deck and may need additional securing in rough seas. The 400 V three-phase supply is standardised across commercial vessels, eliminating the need for a transformer.

Cleaning is straightforward: the front control panel can be removed to access every internal component, and the smooth stainless surfaces can be wiped down with a damp cloth. The cast-iron hobs should be cleaned while still warm to prevent baked-on residue, and the oven interior can be scrubbed with a non-abrasive pad once it has cooled. The waterproof knobs and sealed rear panel allow the entire unit to be washed with a hose, provided the power is disconnected first.

The CF4-98ET is a single model within the LOTUS CF range, designed specifically for marine environments and certified for use on ships.
