An electric griddle heats a solid metal plate from beneath, spreading heat evenly across the cooking surface without open flames. The plate's mass holds and radiates heat, so food sears quickly and cooks through without hot spots. A chrome-plated steel plate reflects heat upward, concentrating it on the food while the smooth finish keeps sticking to a minimum and makes cleaning easier after service.

The operator sets the two thermostats to the desired temperature, then preheats the plate. Once the indicator shows the plate is ready, food is laid directly on the surface—burgers, steaks, pancakes or vegetables—without a basket or tray. The grease released during cooking runs off the sloped edges into removable stainless-steel containers at the front. After use, the containers are emptied, the plate is wiped down, and the front control panel is removed to reach the elements and wiring for inspection or servicing.

The griddle is built on a stainless-steel frame of 2 mm CrNi 18/10 AISI 304 with a Scotch-Brite satin finish. The worktop and rear splashback are rounded for safety and ease of cleaning. Chrome-plated components resist corrosion and wear. IPX5-rated control knobs protect the electrical parts from water jets during washdown. An open base with a storage shelf keeps small tools or ingredients within reach, and adjustable feet level the unit on uneven floors.

The 11.1 kW power rating means the griddle draws a substantial load on a 3-phase 400/440 V circuit, so it must be connected to a dedicated supply line in a commercial kitchen. The 800 mm width fits standard worktop runs while the 705 mm depth leaves room for rear splashback clearance. At 110 kg, the unit is moved with a trolley or two people, and the adjustable feet allow fine levelling once in place.

Two removable grease containers catch drippings for disposal. The front control panel lifts off to expose all serviceable parts, so maintenance does not require dismantling the entire unit. The temperature range of 50–300 °C covers everything from gentle warming to high-heat searing.

The FTLR-78ETSX is supplied with a chrome-plated steel cooking plate; the same model is also available with a standard steel plate under a different article number. Doors for the neutral cabinet are not included.
