Electric hob with a 250 × 470 mm glass ceramic cooking surface, stainless steel construction and a locking system.
An electric hob provides heat to pans through an element hidden under a smooth ceramic surface. The element warms the ceramic, which then transfers heat directly to the pan base without flames or exposed coils. This design ensures even, adjustable heat across the cooking zone, making it suitable for tasks like simmering, boiling, or frying with precision control over temperature levels.
The LOTUS PCCT-63ETX features two glass-ceramic zones on a stainless-steel worktop. Each zone is controlled by a water-resistant knob with seven power settings. A selector switch and temperature limiter help prevent overheating, while a residual heat indicator alerts users when the surface remains hot after use.
To operate, place a pan on a zone and adjust the knob to the required setting. The hob heats rapidly, with an indicator light confirming it is active. After cooking, turn the knob to zero and allow the zone to cool. The residual heat indicator stays lit until the surface is safe to touch.
Constructed from 18/10 CrNi stainless steel, the hob has a Scotch-Brite satin finish. The worktop is 1 mm thick, with rounded edges and a rear splash guard. Chrome-plated parts include the control knobs and tray runners, which feature locking stops to secure pans during cooking. Adjustable feet enable levelling on uneven surfaces, and a locking system prevents unintended movement during use.
A 400 V three-phase electrical supply is necessary, standard for commercial kitchens with high-power equipment. The 3 kW rating reflects the total power consumption when both zones are active. Weighing 19 kg, the unit is manageable for two people to relocate but stable enough to stay in position during operation. Its dimensions of 300 mm depth and 600 mm width suit standard worktop layouts, allowing space for nearby appliances.
Maintenance involves wiping the glass-ceramic zones with a damp cloth once cooled and cleaning the stainless-steel surfaces with a mild detergent. The splash guard and tray runners can be removed for deeper cleaning. The satin finish minimises fingerprints and scratches, while the IPX5-rated knobs resist water jets during washdown.
The PCCT-63ETX is a two-zone model with glass-ceramic surfaces. It is designed for medium-duty use in restaurants, cafés, and catering environments.
