LOTUS Electric Hob with Four Cast Iron Plates PCT-78ET

An electric hob that transfers heat through solid cast iron plates, giving immediate and even contact with pots and pans. The iron holds heat longer than thin elements, smoothing out power fluctuations and keeping a steady cooking temperature once set. Each plate is controlled independently, so one burner can simmer while another sears without affecting the others. To use the hob, place the pan on the chosen plate, turn the selector switch to the desired power setting, and the plate begins to heat. The temperature limiter cuts power if the plate overheats, protecting the unit and the food. When cooking is finished, return the switch to zero and the plate cools. A splash guard at the rear catches liquids and grease, keeping the wall and worktop cleaner. The hob is built from 18/10 CrNi stainless steel, a grade that resists corrosion and staining in a busy kitchen. The worktop is 1 mm thick with rounded edges for safety and durability. Chrome-plated components add contrast and are easy to wipe clean. Control knobs are IPX5 rated, meaning they can be sprayed with water during cleaning without damage. Adjustable feet allow the unit to sit level on uneven floors, and a locking system prevents accidental movement once positioned. A power rating of 10.4 kW requires a three-phase 400 V supply, the standard circuit in professional kitchens for high-demand appliances. The 800 mm width fits a standard worktop cut-out, leaving room for adjacent equipment. At 63 kg, the hob is heavy enough to stay stable during vigorous cooking but can still be moved with a trolley or two people. The 280 mm height keeps the cooking surface at a comfortable working level. The satin-finish stainless worktop shrugs off splashes and fingerprints while the chrome-plated knobs and splash guard wipe clean with a single pass of a damp cloth. The cast iron plates should be cleaned while still warm but not hot, using a non-abrasive pad to avoid scratching the surface. The splash guard lifts off for thorough cleaning, and the control knobs can be removed for access to the panel behind. The PCT-78ET is the cast iron plate version of the LOTUS electric hob range. A glass ceramic model with residual heat indicators is also available.
