Professional electric range with square cast iron hotplates, designed for intensive use in professional kitchens. The durable AISI 304 stainless steel construction and 7-position power control ensure precise cooking and safe operation.
An electric hob built for continuous service in commercial kitchens, the LOTUS PCQT-78ET supplies four square cast-iron hotplates that transfer heat directly into pots and pans. Each plate is heated by an embedded element that responds quickly to the power regulator, allowing the chef to raise or lower the temperature in distinct steps without waiting for residual heat to dissipate. The cast iron holds and spreads the heat evenly across its surface, eliminating cold spots that can slow cooking or scorch food at the edges. Steel retaining rims around each plate keep pots centred and prevent spills from running onto the worktop or into the hob's interior.
To operate the hob, the chef places a pot on one of the four plates, selects the desired power level on the corresponding 7-position knob, and waits for the plate to reach the set temperature. The knobs are water-resistant to IPX5, so they can be wiped down without risk of electrical fault. Once cooking is complete, the regulator is turned to the off position and the pot is removed. The plates cool gradually, but the retaining rims remain warm to the touch for some time after use.
The entire unit is constructed from 18/10 AISI 304 CrNi stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and staining in a busy kitchen. The 2 mm thick worktop has rounded edges to reduce the risk of cuts and a Scotch-Brite satin finish that hides minor scratches and fingerprints. Chrome-plated components and a rear splashback protect the hob from splashes and grease, while adjustable feet allow the unit to be levelled on uneven floors. The front control panel can be removed to give access to the internal wiring and components for maintenance or repair.
With a total power draw of 10.4 kW, the hob requires a three-phase 400 V supply, which is standard in professional kitchens where multiple high-power appliances run simultaneously. The 800 mm width and 705 mm depth fit within the footprint of most worktops, while the 280 mm height allows the hob to be installed at a comfortable working height. The 66 kg weight ensures stability during use but means the unit must be moved with care, typically on a trolley or with two people.
Each of the four plates is regulated independently, so different dishes can be cooked at the same time without flavour transfer. The 7-position regulators give precise control over simmering, boiling, frying and holding temperatures, making the hob suitable for a wide range of cooking techniques. The water-resistant knobs and sealed construction simplify cleaning; the worktop and splashback can be wiped down with a damp cloth, while the plates and rims are removed for deeper cleaning when necessary.
The PCQT-78ET is a single model with no variants. It is listed in the LOTUS catalogue under professional electric hobs for commercial kitchens.
