Professional electric range with square cast iron hotplates, designed for intensive use in professional kitchens. The durable AISI 304 stainless steel construction and 7-position power control ensure precise cooking and safe operation.
An electric hob built for the demands of a professional kitchen, where two square cast iron hotplates deliver steady, even heat across the entire cooking surface. Each plate is heated by an embedded element that transfers energy directly into the iron, holding temperature without hot spots and responding quickly when the power setting is changed. The square shape maximises usable area, letting large pans sit flat and cook evenly without wasted space at the corners.
The operator places a pan on one or both plates, selects the desired power level on the seven-position regulator, and the hob maintains that setting until it is adjusted or switched off. The chrome-plated retaining rims keep cookware centred, while the supplied pot retaining bars clip onto the front edge to prevent accidental tipping when heavy stockpots are moved. A rear splashback protects the wall from splashes and grease, and the rounded edges of the worktop reduce the risk of snagging or injury during busy service.
The entire unit is constructed from 18/10 AISI 304 stainless steel, 2 mm thick, with a Scotch-Brite satin finish that resists fingerprints and scratches. Chrome-plated components add corrosion resistance, and the IPX5-rated control knobs are sealed against water ingress, allowing safe wipe-down between uses. The front control panel lifts away to expose all internal wiring and components, simplifying routine maintenance and fault-finding. Four adjustable feet level the hob on uneven floors and prevent movement during use.
A 5.2 kW total power rating draws a substantial load, requiring a dedicated 400 V three-phase circuit commonly found in commercial kitchens. The 30 kg weight ensures stability but still allows two people to move the unit into position without specialist equipment. The footprint of 400 mm depth by 705 mm width fits standard worktop runs, leaving space for adjacent appliances or preparation areas.
Cleaning follows from the materials and construction: the stainless steel worktop and splashback wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent, while the cast iron plates can be scraped and brushed once cool. The control panel and knobs are designed for frequent sanitising without risk of water damage. No additional accessories or consumables are required beyond standard kitchen cleaning supplies.
The PCQT-74ETX is a single model with no variants; the supplied pot retaining bars are included as standard. It is categorised under electric hobs in the professional catering equipment range.
