| NOTES | Hard chrome coating on a steel plate. |
Professional electric griddle with a smooth cooking surface and an open neutral cabinet, designed for intensive use in professional kitchens. The durable AISI 304 stainless steel construction ensures even heating, long service life and easy daily cleaning.
A smooth, hard-chrome cooking surface spreads heat evenly across the entire plate, eliminating hot spots and allowing continuous searing, grilling or frying without scorching. The electric element beneath the steel plate converts energy directly into radiant heat, which the dense chrome layer then conducts and diffuses, giving the operator precise control over every section of the worktop.
The operator lowers the adjustable feet to level the unit, then connects the 3-phase supply. A double thermostat maintains the set temperature between 50 and 300 °C; one dial sets the working heat while the second acts as a safety cut-out. Once the plate reaches temperature, the chef loads ingredients directly onto the chrome surface, turning or moving them as needed. Grease and juices run into removable stainless-steel collection containers at the front, keeping the workspace clean and reducing flare-ups. A rear splashback protects the wall and contains splashes within the cooking zone.
The entire unit is built from CrNi 18/10 AISI 304 stainless steel with a Scotch-Brite satin finish, including the 2 mm thick worktop, rounded edges and chrome-plated components. The open cabinet base provides a storage shelf below the cooking surface, while the front control panel lifts away to reveal all serviceable parts for maintenance. IPX5-rated water-resistant knobs allow safe wipe-downs without risk of electrical shorting.
A 7.4 kW power rating indicates a heavy load on the kitchen's 3-phase circuit, so the unit should be installed on a dedicated line with appropriate circuit protection. The 600 mm depth and 705 mm width fit standard worktop runs, while the 900 mm height allows comfortable standing operation. At 78 kg, the fry-top is stable but requires two people or a trolley for safe movement. The temperature range of 50–300 °C covers everything from gentle warming to high-heat searing, while the chrome-plated steel plate resists warping and corrosion better than uncoated alternatives.
Cleaning involves scraping the chrome surface while still warm, then wiping with a damp cloth once cooled. The grease containers slide out for emptying and washing, and the front panel can be removed for access to internal components. Adjustable feet allow levelling on uneven floors, and the absence of doors simplifies access to the storage shelf.
The SUPERCHROME variant features the FE510C chrome-plated steel cooking plate, offering higher durability and faster heat recovery than the standard FE430B steel plate. The unit is categorised under professional electric griddles and fry-tops in the LOTUS catalogue.
