Professional electric griddle with a 50/50 smooth and ribbed cooking surface and an open neutral cabinet, designed for intensive use in professional kitchens. The durable AISI 304 stainless steel construction ensures even heating, long service life and easy daily cleaning.
An electric griddle heats a flat steel plate from beneath with electric elements, spreading heat evenly across the entire surface. The smooth plate gives direct contact with food, browning and searing without the need for oil or a separate pan. A thermostat regulates the temperature, holding it steady for consistent results across the whole plate, whether cooking bacon, pancakes or burgers in bulk.
The operator sets the desired temperature on the double thermostat, then loads food directly onto the preheated plate. The chrome-plated splashback at the rear keeps walls clean, while two removable grease containers beneath the front edge collect drips and fat. Once cooking is complete, the containers slide out for emptying and cleaning. The open base leaves space for a storage shelf below the plate, keeping utensils and trays within reach during service.
The griddle is built from CrNi 18/10 AISI 304 stainless steel with a Scotch-Brite satin finish, including a 2 mm thick worktop and rounded edges for safety. Chrome-plated components resist corrosion, and IPX5-rated water-resistant control knobs allow safe wipe-downs. The cooking plate itself is either FE430B steel or FE510C chrome-plated steel, chosen for rapid heating and high durability. A front control panel lifts away to expose all serviceable parts, simplifying maintenance.
The 11.1 kW power rating draws a substantial load, requiring a dedicated circuit on either 230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase supply. The 800 mm width suits high-volume service, while the 110 kg weight calls for a sturdy worktop or floor stand. Adjustable feet level the unit on uneven floors, and the 900 mm height allows comfortable standing operation.
Cleaning involves wiping the plate after each service, emptying the grease containers, and occasionally removing the front panel to access internal components. The neutral cabinet shelf beneath can be wiped down with a damp cloth.
The FTLR-78ET is supplied without doors, leaving the base open for ventilation and easy access to the storage shelf. The catalogue places it among professional electric fry-tops for commercial kitchens.
