| NOTES | Ribbed griddle |
Professional electric griddle with a ribbed cooking surface and an open neutral cabinet, designed for intensive use in professional kitchens. The durable AISI 304 stainless steel construction ensures even heating, long service life and easy daily cleaning.
An electric ribbed griddle heats a solid steel plate from beneath, spreading heat evenly across the cooking surface. The ribs create distinct sear marks and allow fat to drain away, reducing flare-ups and giving food a grilled texture without an open flame. This method suits high-volume cooking, where consistent heat and quick recovery are essential for batches of burgers, steaks or vegetables.
The operator sets the double thermostat to the desired temperature between 50 and 300 °C, then loads food directly onto the ribbed plate. As items cook, fat and juices run into the channels and collect in removable grease containers beneath the front edge. A rear splashback catches any overspray, keeping the workspace clean. When cooking is complete, the operator slides items off the plate and onto serving trays or plates. The open base allows air to circulate, preventing heat build-up around the controls and motor.
The griddle is built from CrNi 18/10 AISI 304 stainless steel with a Scotch-Brite satin finish, including a 2 mm thick worktop and rounded edges for safety. Chrome-plated components resist corrosion, while IPX5-rated water-resistant knobs allow safe cleaning with a hose. The unit stands on adjustable feet to level it on uneven floors, and a storage shelf beneath the cooking surface holds trays or ingredients within reach. The front control panel removes easily, giving access to all serviceable parts for maintenance.
A 5.55 kW power rating means the griddle draws a significant load, requiring a dedicated circuit in a professional kitchen. The voltage options of 230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase with neutral accommodate different electrical setups, making it adaptable to most commercial installations. The 400 mm depth, 705 mm width and 900 mm height fit standard worktop layouts, while the 64 kg weight ensures stability during use but may need two people to move.
Cleaning involves scraping the ribbed plate while warm, then wiping it down once cool. The grease collection containers slide out for emptying and washing, and the splashback can be removed for thorough cleaning. All stainless steel surfaces resist staining and can be sanitised with standard kitchen chemicals. The chrome-plated components require only a damp cloth to maintain their finish.
The FTR-74ET is supplied with either an FE430B steel cooking plate or an FE510C chrome-plated steel plate, offering a choice of surface durability and heat retention. Doors for the cabinet are not included, allowing customisation with optional storage solutions.
