A salamander grill uses overhead radiant heat to brown, melt or finish food on a grid below. The electric elements in a reflective canopy focus heat downward without fans or flames.
The LOTUS SLC-600EM features an open front for easy access. Food on a tray or plate slides under the heated canopy, where the grid height can be adjusted manually or with an optional automatic control. Once the surface is ready, the food is removed and the next batch introduced.
The grill is built from 18/10 chromium-nickel stainless steel with a Scotch-Brite satin finish and chrome accents. A removable tray at the base catches fat and debris, making daily cleaning straightforward. Four adjustable feet ensure the unit sits level on uneven surfaces.
Controls include a power switch and a temperature dial to regulate heat output. The 3 kW power rating requires a dedicated electrical supply. The 230 V single-phase voltage suits standard UK commercial circuits.
With a 600 mm width, the grill accommodates two full-size gastronorm trays side by side, enabling efficient batch finishing. The 50 kg weight provides stability while allowing two people to move it when kitchen layouts change.
Maintenance involves removing the drip tray, wiping the canopy and grid with a damp cloth, and emptying the tray. The stainless steel construction withstands corrosion and staining from kitchen acids and fats.
The SLC-600EM is the 230 V variant of the SLC-600ET model, which operates on 400 V for three-phase setups.
