A vacuum packing machine removes air from a sealed bag to extend shelf life, protect texture and lock in flavour. The Bright18 draws air out of its stainless-steel chamber, collapsing the bag around the food until the internal pressure matches the vacuum pump's setting. When the cycle ends, the machine seals the bag with a heated rod, creating an airtight barrier that slows oxidation, dehydration and bacterial growth. For delicate items such as leafy greens or soft bakery goods, the modified-atmosphere (ATM) function replaces the extracted air with inert gas, preventing crushing and preserving colour.

To operate the Bright18, place the open bag inside the chamber, ensuring the edge lies across the sealing rod. Close the lid; the sensor confirms the seal. Select one of the 36 preset programmes on the waterproof digital panel—each adjusts vacuum level, sealing time and gas mix for a specific food type. The exclusive FTY presets automate common tasks such as sous-vide preparation or bulk storage, while the DSI deaeration programme removes air in stages for fragile products. Start the cycle; the pump evacuates the chamber, the rod heats and presses the bag shut, and the soft-air function gently reintroduces air to cushion sharp or irregular items like bone-in meat. Once complete, lift the lid and remove the packed bag.

The machine is built entirely of stainless steel, including the Power-Steel chamber that resists deformation under repeated vacuum cycles. A 415 mm removable sealing rod allows quick cleaning or replacement, and multiple rods can be fitted simultaneously to seal several bags at once. The 25 m³/h vacuum pump draws air through a vessel nozzle, and an optional Easy accessory enables external vacuum generation for oversized items. An H2Out pump-wetting cycle keeps the system primed and extends pump life.

The 1.6 kW power rating indicates the load on the electrical circuit; the Bright18 requires a dedicated 220-240 V, 50-60 Hz supply. Its 588 × 587 × 501 mm footprint fits on a standard worktop or under a low shelf, while the 76 kg weight ensures stability during operation. The maximum bag dimensions of 400 × 500 mm determine the largest item that can be packed in a single cycle.

Cleaning involves wiping the chamber and sealing rod after each use to remove food debris. The removable rod can be soaked or scrubbed separately, and the vessel nozzle should be checked for blockages. The H2Out wetting cycle flushes the pump periodically to prevent scale build-up. The digital panel's waterproof construction allows it to be wiped down with a damp cloth.

The Bright18 is a single-chamber vacuum packing machine with modified-atmosphere capability, soft-air function and 36 programmable cycles. It is positioned in the ORVED catalogue as a mid-range professional unit for catering kitchens, delicatessens and small food-production facilities.
