Professional washing machine with an 22 kg capacity, a G-factor of 500, and soft-mounted construction. Equipped with EASY TOUCH 2 microprocessor control featuring a 7-inch touchscreen, DANUBE Online IoT connectivity, a steam heating system, and AISI 304 stainless steel components.
A professional washing machine built for high-volume textile care in catering, hospitality and on-premise laundries. The DANUBE WED-22 S ET2 uses steam heating to raise water temperature rapidly, cutting warm-up times and improving energy efficiency compared with electric elements. Steam is drawn from a central supply, eliminating the need for an internal boiler and reducing the electrical load on the kitchen circuit.
The machine operates on a front-loading drum principle. A perforated stainless steel cylinder rotates inside a sealed outer drum, lifting and dropping the load through the water. The high G-force (500) of the soft-mount suspension extracts more moisture during the final spin, shortening drying times and saving energy in the next stage of the laundry process. The drum and outer tank are constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion from detergents, steam and hard water.
Loading is done through a large aluminium door with an ergonomic opening mechanism. The door diameter of 373 mm allows bulky items such as chef jackets, aprons and table linens to be loaded without folding. Once the door is closed, the operator selects a programme from the 7-inch touch screen. The EASY TOUCH 2 microprocessor control offers over 20 preset cycles, including a standardised wet-cleaning programme for delicate professional textiles. Additional custom cycles can be created and stored, and programmes can be imported or exported via a USB port.
The control panel also manages water and detergent dosing. Three water inlets allow separate connections for cold, hot and softened water, optimising the wash process. Eight control signals are available for automatic dosing systems, expandable to fourteen for larger installations. The Intelligent Consumption system adjusts water and detergent use according to the weight of the load, while the Water Saving function offers three levels of reduced water usage. Under standard conditions, the machine uses less than 8 litres of water per kilogram of laundry.
Operation is monitored remotely through DANUBE Online IoT connectivity. The system provides real-time telemetry, remote diagnostics and the ability to start or stop the machine from a central control point. The touch screen can display video instructions in 37 languages, guiding staff through loading, programming and maintenance tasks.
The machine is designed for easy access to internal components. The front panel opens to reveal the drum, bearings and seals, simplifying routine servicing. The voltage selector allows the unit to be switched between single-phase 230 V and three-phase 400 V supplies, accommodating different electrical installations in professional kitchens and laundry rooms.
The 22 kg capacity refers to the dry weight of laundry the drum can hold in a single cycle. The machine measures 884 mm wide, 1003 mm deep and 1405 mm high, requiring a floor space of just under one square metre. At 360 kg, the unit is mounted on castors or a fixed plinth, depending on the installation. The 2.2 kW power rating reflects the electrical load when the drum motor is running; steam heating is supplied externally and does not contribute to this figure.
Cleaning is limited to routine wipe-down of the touch screen and door gasket. The stainless steel drum and outer tank are self-cleaning during the wash cycle, but the drain filter should be checked weekly for lint and debris. The front panel can be removed for deeper access to the drum bearings and seals, though this is typically a service task rather than daily maintenance.
This model is equipped with steam heating; alternative versions are available with electric or hot-water heating for sites without a central steam supply. Additional accessories, such as larger detergent tanks or extended signal cables, can be ordered separately.
The WED-22 S ET2 is positioned in the DANUBE professional laundry range for on-premise laundries (OPL) and self-service laundrettes with supplementary equipment.
