Charcoal Oven - Grill
A charcoal oven harnesses radiant heat from burning charcoal to sear and cook food rapidly. The thick refractory steel walls absorb and reflect the heat inward, creating an intense, even temperature that grills rather than bakes. This radiant energy shortens cooking times, allowing higher throughput without drying out the food.
The KOPA Charcoal Oven C Type 400 is loaded from the front. Charcoal is added to the firebox, and the operator lights it, allowing the oven to preheat to the desired temperature. Trays of food are placed on the grill shelf, where the radiant heat cooks them quickly. The operator monitors the temperature using the built-in controls and adjusts the airflow to maintain the set range. Once cooking is complete, the trays are removed, and the oven is ready for the next batch. The stand beneath the oven provides storage for utensils and additional charcoal, keeping them within reach during service.
Built from thick refractory steel, the oven retains heat efficiently and withstands the high temperatures generated by charcoal combustion. The exterior is finished in the same style as the oven, ensuring a cohesive appearance for front-cooking setups where presentation matters. The unit stands on legs or wheels, allowing it to be positioned as needed in the kitchen.
The oven features a temperature control system that allows the operator to set the heat between 250 °C and 350 °C. The 4.5 kW power rating reflects the energy required to maintain these temperatures consistently. The exhaust system, with a rate of 2900 m³/h and a maximum smoke flow of 7.2 g/s, ensures that smoke and fumes are efficiently removed from the cooking area.
The grill shelf measures 530 mm by 570 mm, providing ample space for trays of food. The oven's overall dimensions—712 mm wide, 697 mm deep, and 1431 mm high—make it a compact yet high-capacity solution for professional kitchens. At 198 kg, the unit is heavy but can be moved on wheels if needed. The 90-tray capacity over 24 hours allows for continuous service in busy environments, while coal consumption of 5–8 kg ensures cost-effective operation.
Cleaning involves removing ash from the firebox and wiping down the grill shelf after each use. The refractory steel interior should be brushed periodically to maintain heat retention. The exterior can be cleaned with a damp cloth to preserve its appearance.
The KOPA Charcoal Oven C Type 400 is categorised under professional charcoal ovens, designed for high-volume grilling in commercial kitchens.
