Professional potato peeler made of stainless steel.
Capacity - 500 kg/h
A potato peeler removes skins by tumbling tubers against an abrasive surface inside a rotating drum. The drum turns at a steady speed, lifting and dropping the potatoes so every side contacts the abrasive lining. This method strips only the outer layer, leaving the flesh intact and ready for further preparation. Because the drum is sealed, water and peelings are contained and can be drained away cleanly after each cycle.
To operate the SAVIOLI PP15, load up to 15 kg of potatoes into the stainless-steel bowl, close the lid and set the timer for the desired peeling time. The microswitch on the lid ensures the motor starts only when the lid is securely shut. Once the timer expires, the drum stops and the operator presses the outlet button to release the peeled potatoes through the ejection chute. The abrasive plate inside the bowl can be replaced when it wears down, maintaining consistent results.
The unit is built on a stainless-steel frame and bowl for corrosion resistance and hygiene. The abrasive lining is a wear-resistant compound designed to last through repeated cycles. An aluminium outlet plate and ejection mechanism handle the flow of peeled potatoes. The control panel runs on low-voltage 24 V for operator safety, while the motor itself requires a 400 V three-phase supply.
The 1.1 kW motor provides enough torque to turn the loaded drum without straining the electrical circuit. A throughput of 500 kg per hour means the peeler can process large batches quickly, reducing manual labour. The 440 mm width, 560 mm depth and 580 mm height give the unit a compact footprint that fits beneath most worktops or on a sturdy counter. At 48 kg, the peeler is stable during operation yet light enough to move with a trolley when needed.
Cleaning involves rinsing the bowl and abrasive lining after each use to remove peelings and starch. The outlet chute and ejection plate should be wiped down to prevent build-up. The low-voltage control panel can be cleaned with a damp cloth, avoiding direct water contact. The abrasive lining is replaced once it shows signs of wear, ensuring consistent peeling performance.
The SAVIOLI PP15 is a single model with no variants. It is listed in the catalogue under Vegetable Preparation Equipment.
