Used to seal all types of plastic bags for food.
Suitable for butcheries, groceries, supermarkets and delicatessens.
A sealing machine creates an airtight bond across the opening of a plastic bag or box by pressing a heated element against the material. The element softens the plastic just enough to fuse the two sides together, locking out air and moisture. This method keeps food fresh longer, prevents spills during transport and allows portioned ingredients to be stored without cross-contamination. The SIGIL400 is designed for plastic boxes up to 400 mm wide, making it suitable for larger pre-packaged items such as ready meals, bakery goods or bulk ingredients.
To seal a box, the operator places the open end under the sealing bar, ensuring the plastic lies flat across the full width. The front-mounted timer is set between 0.5 and 2.5 seconds, depending on the thickness of the material—thicker plastic needs a longer dwell time to reach the correct temperature. Once the timer is started, the element lowers and applies heat and pressure for the set duration. After the cycle completes, the element lifts automatically, and the sealed box can be removed. The process leaves a continuous, tamper-evident seal that is strong enough to withstand handling but can still be peeled open when needed.
The SIGIL400 is built as a compact countertop unit with a stainless-steel sealing bar and a plastic housing. Its footprint of 75 mm depth, 555 mm width and 260 mm height allows it to sit on a worktop or shelf without taking up excessive space. The 4 kg weight makes it easy to move between stations or store when not in use. A standard 230 V single-phase supply powers the 0.7 kW element, matching the circuit used by most professional kitchen appliances.
The adjustable sealing time of 0.5 to 2.5 seconds accommodates a range of plastic thicknesses up to 2 mm, covering the common films and trays used in catering. The 400 mm maximum box width means it can handle larger containers that smaller sealers cannot, while the 75 mm depth keeps the unit stable on a work surface. Cleaning involves wiping the sealing bar with a damp cloth after use to remove any residue, ensuring consistent performance and hygiene.
