A range cooker combines a hob and an oven in one unit, letting a single appliance handle boiling, frying, grilling and baking without moving pots or trays between separate stations. The hob surface holds six gas burners, each with its own flame that can be adjusted from a gentle simmer to a rolling boil. Beneath the hob, the oven chamber uses electric elements to heat the air inside; a fan circulates the hot air so every shelf receives the same temperature, eliminating cold spots and speeding up cooking times.
To use the cooker, the operator first selects the oven temperature on the electronic control panel. The oven heats to the set point and holds it while the fan keeps the air moving. On the hob, each burner is lit individually and adjusted with its own knob. Once cooking is complete, the burners are turned off and the oven door opened to remove the food. The electronic controls also include a timer and pre-set programmes for common dishes, so the oven can switch off automatically when the food is ready.
The body of the cooker is constructed from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to heat and corrosion in a busy kitchen. The exterior is available in a copper finish or any RAL Classic colour as an optional upgrade. The hob surface measures 90 cm across, providing space for all six burners and a work area around them. The overall dimensions of 910 mm wide, 650 mm deep and 860 mm high fit a standard worktop cut-out, allowing the cooker to slide into place between existing units.
The electronic oven offers a temperature range from 30 °C to 320 °C, covering everything from gentle warming to high-heat roasting. An A+ energy rating indicates the oven uses less electricity than older models, reducing running costs. The controls are located on the front panel, with a digital display for temperature and timer settings, and separate knobs for oven functions and each burner.
Cleaning involves wiping the hob surface after use to remove spills, and regularly emptying the crumb tray beneath the oven. The stainless steel exterior can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The oven interior benefits from a self-cleaning cycle, where high heat burns off food residue, leaving only ash to wipe away.
The Nostalgie 90 cm range cooker is available in the standard stainless steel finish or with optional copper or RAL Classic colour exteriors.
