Gas hobs in stainless steel or enamelled steel. The price may vary depending on the selected accessories.
A gas hob built for the demands of professional cooking, the ILVE Nostalgie HCB906CN combines traditional materials with precise control. Gas burners heat the pan directly, transferring energy without delay. The flame adjusts infinitely, allowing the chef to hold a simmer or raise a rolling boil at will. Each burner is sized for a specific task: small for delicate sauces, medium for everyday pots, and large or double-crown for high-output searing or stockpots.
The sequence begins with the pan placed on the sturdy cast iron grid. The integrated electric ignition lights the burner with a single turn of the knob, eliminating the need for a separate spark. The safety valve cuts the gas if the flame extinguishes, preventing unburned gas from accumulating. Once lit, the flame remains stable under the pan, heating the base evenly and quickly.
Construction centres on durability and ease of cleaning. Cast iron grids distribute weight and conduct heat without warping. Burner caps are brass, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and high temperatures, and treated with a non-stick nanotechnological coating that prevents food residue from bonding. The hob fits into a standard worktop cut-out of 83.5 x 47.5 cm, leaving a narrow overhang for a seamless look.
Controls are simple and direct: one knob per burner. Each knob adjusts the flame from a low simmer to full power, with no preset positions. The small burners run at 1.8 kW for gentle cooking, the medium burners at 3 kW for general use, and the large double-crown burner at 4.2 kW for rapid boiling or high-heat searing. A secondary low setting on each burner provides a stable pilot flame for holding temperatures without scorching.
The 860 x 500 mm footprint allows the hob to sit between standard base units or under an extractor hood. The cast iron grids can be lifted off for cleaning, and the brass burner caps wipe clean with a damp cloth. The non-stick treatment reduces the need for scrubbing, but any residue left on the cap or grid can be removed with a non-abrasive cleaner to maintain the finish.
The ILVE Nostalgie HCB906CN is a built-in model designed for integration into a professional worktop. It is not supplied with a gas hose or regulator, which must be specified for the local supply pressure and connection type.
