ITV Modular Ice Maker GALA – Clear Cubes on Demand

This ITV modular ice maker creates clear, crystalline cubes by spraying water onto a copper evaporator. The evaporator freezes the water in layers, resulting in hard, slow-melting ice without cloudiness. Air cooling dissipates the heat generated during freezing, enabling operation in ambient temperatures from 5 °C to 40 °C without requiring a separate water supply for cooling.

Each cycle produces 192 cubes. The operator fills the reservoir, starts the machine using the external on/off switch, and the built-in timer and thermostat manage the process. Once the cycle completes, the ice is automatically released into the storage bin, eliminating the need for manual handling.

The cabinet is made from AISI 304 stainless steel, selected for its corrosion resistance and hygiene benefits in professional kitchens. The refrigerant used is R290, a hydrocarbon that offers efficient heat transfer with minimal environmental impact. To maintain ice clarity and prevent scale build-up, a water softener and filter are recommended.

With a power rating of 3.3 kW, the unit can be connected to a standard single-phase circuit. The 230 V voltage is compatible with the UK mains supply. The dimensions of 1321 mm by 638 mm by 978 mm allow it to fit into most back-of-house spaces, while the 185 kg weight necessitates a stable floor or a dedicated stand.

Maintenance includes descaling the evaporator and flushing the water circuit to remove mineral deposits. Stainless-steel surfaces can be cleaned with a damp cloth, and the air-cooling system requires no additional sanitisation of water lines.

The GALA model is available with either air or water cooling; a BHS technician will determine the most suitable option during installation.
