rofessional gas range with 2 burners, designed for intensive use in professional kitchens. The durable AISI 304 stainless steel construction ensures a long service life, even heat distribution, and easy daily cleaning.
A gas range combines direct flame heat with an open storage cabinet beneath the hob, giving a chef immediate access to pots and utensils while cooking. The burners draw gas through jets, mixing it with air to produce a controlled flame that heats the base of pans quickly and evenly. A standing pilot light ignites the gas as soon as the valve is opened, while a thermocouple monitors the flame and shuts off the supply if the pilot goes out, preventing unburned gas from escaping. The open cabinet below keeps frequently used items within reach, reducing movement across the kitchen during service.
To start, the operator places a pan on the cast-iron grate, adjusts the legs for a level stance, and turns the control knob to light the pilot. Once the pilot is alight, the knob is turned further to release gas to the burner, where the pilot flame ignites it. The chef sets the desired flame height with the same knob, watching for a steady blue ring. After cooking, the knob is turned back to the pilot position, extinguishing the main flame but leaving the pilot lit for the next use. The drip tray beneath the burners collects spills and can be removed for cleaning.
The range is built from 18/10 CrNi AISI 304 stainless steel throughout, with a 2 mm thick satin-finish worktop, rounded edges and chrome-plated trim. The rear splash guard and control knobs are rated IPX5 for water resistance, allowing safe wipe-downs. Cast-iron grates provide a stable, durable surface for heavy pots, and the open cabinet below is made of the same stainless steel for easy cleaning. Adjustable legs ensure the unit can be levelled on uneven floors, and the gas valve is factory-fitted with conversion nozzles for either natural gas or LPG.
Controls consist of two knobs, each regulating gas flow to one burner. The left knob sets the 10 kW burner, the right knob the 7 kW burner. Both knobs incorporate the pilot ignition and safety shut-off.
A power rating of 17 kW indicates the maximum gas load the range draws when both burners are at full output, determining the size of the gas line and meter needed in the kitchen. The 800 mm width fits standard worktop runs, while the 705 mm depth leaves clearance for rear plumbing and ventilation. At 76 kg, the range is moved with a trolley or two people, and the open cabinet design means no doors or shelves obstruct access during installation.
Cleaning involves removing the drip tray and wiping the stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The control panel and splash guard can be cleaned in place, and the grates can be lifted off for scrubbing. The pilot assembly and gas jets are accessed by removing the front control panel, allowing thorough inspection and maintenance.
The range is supplied with conversion nozzles for both natural gas and LPG, allowing installation on either supply without additional parts.
In the LOTUS catalogue, the PC2-78G is listed under professional cooking equipment, gas ranges with open cabinets.
